Arizona to Wisconsin - Day 3

We discovered a place we want to visit again in Colorado. The state park we stayed in is located near a number of things we would like to do in the Colorado Springs/Denver area. The kids and dogs enjoyed it too...

Kids and Dogs in Colorado

Not everything went right today. We drove from Colorado, through Wyoming, and into South Dakota. Wyoming had road construction on the border and the welcome sign was obscured, so no picture of that. South Dakota's sign was small and non-descript and we didn't see it in time to snap the picture.

Wyoming started getting a little warm, so at lunch time we fired up the generator in the RV to run the air conditioner. It ran long enough for us to eat lunch. I shut it off to top off the gas tank and it didn't start again. Upon inspection, it appears we lost a wing nut to the air cleaner housing. We'll have to find one and fix it.

I hate when things go wrong with machinery. Ask the family. But I didn't have as bad a day as one guy... about 10 miles down the road we saw a muffler and half the exhaust manifold of some truck laying in the break-down lane. I told my wife, at least we're better off than that guy.

These were minor things. We put 401 miles behind us today and made it to our destination for an off-day from traveling tomorrow. We're going to see Mt. Rushmore and some other sights in the Black Hills area of South Dakota.
